Caliber:38 Special
One of Cimarron’s Model P variations is their unique New Sheriff. This compact single action is like the standard barrel-length Model Ps in every way except the New Sheriff sports a short 3 12/-inch barrel--with an ejector rod and housing. This is the shortest barrel length that will allow the use of the attached ejector. Just the right size to drop into your frock coat or duster pocket and mighty handy for Cowboy Mounted Shooting the New Sheriff is reminiscent of those short-barreled peacemakers turned out in the 19th century and carried by lawmen kept under the counter by storekeepers and other folks who wanted to keep a powerful sixgun close by but out of sight. This popular configuration was the result of collaboration between Mike B. Harvey and Aldo Uberti resulting in an improved version of the original Colt Sheriff’s Model. - Cimarron’s New Sheriff when ordered with their Cowboy Comp® action eliminates weaknesses associated with the 19th century design. It is chambered for either the .45 Colt .44-40 or the .38 Special/.357 Magnum cartridges. It’s available in the Standard Blue finish with a color case hardened frame and hammer and a handsome one-piece walnut stock. You don’t have to show no stinkin’ badge when your totin’ Cimarron’s New Sheriff! - Caliber: .357 Magnum - Barrel Length: 3 1/2 in. - Style: New Sheriff - Frame: Case Hardened - Finish: Standard Blue - Grip: 1 Piece Smooth Walnut - Weight: 2.22 Lbs.

To paraphrase the famed film director John Ford If this isn’t the way the Old West sixguns were it’s the way they should have been! The Thunderer a full-sized Model P peacemaker-style single-action revolver that was designed by Cimarron founder and president Mike B. Harvey and made on the Old Model (pre-1896) frame and bullseye ejector head. However as a departure from the traditional peacemaker-style arm this six-shooter utilizes the natty birds head grip and is much like that carried by Val Kilmer’s Doc Holliday in the 1993 hit Western Tombstone. Cimarron’s Thunderer is available in the 4 3/4-inch barrel or the 5 1/2-inch barrel as well as a 3 1/2-inch barreled version that makes for a superb carry single action. This well-balanced smokewagon is offered in Standard Blue finish with the color case hardened frame and hammer a .45 Colt .45 Colt/.45 ACP dual cylinder .44 Special .44-40 .38 Special/.357 Magnum. Major George W. Schofield of the 10th Cavalry and an army ordinance officer designed this revolver as an improvement over Smith & Wesson’s No. 3 American model. Produced by S&W from 1875-1977 the U.S. Army ordered nearly 8000 in the proprietary .45 Schofield cartridge and many saw service by the 4th Cavalry in the Geronimo campaign and by the buffalo soldiers of the 9th and 10th Cavalry. Schofields were also put to work by the notorious James-Younger gang U.S. Marshal Bill Tilghman and Custer’s chief of scouts Lonesome Charley Reynolds. Another roughly 1000 guns were sold on the civilian market. Favored by many horse soldiers for its top-break rapid ejection system many considered it superior to the 1873 Colt Single Action for mounted work. In the 1880s New York gun dealer Schuyler Hartley Graham bought surplus Schofields cut the barrels from 7 to 5 inches and sold many of them to Wells Fargo & Company. - Cimarron offers the Model No. 3 Schofield 2nd Model copied directly from an original in our vast collection of antique firearms. It’s available in 3 1/2 inches in .45 Colt 5 inches in .38 Special or .45 Colt or the cavalry length 7-inch barrel in .38 SP .44-40 or .45 Colt. (.45 Colt chambered Cimarron Schofields also handle the .45 Schofield cartridge). Whether you are into the real Old West or the reel West where hombres like the Schofield Kid from Clint Eastwood’s Unforgiven or gunman Charlie Prince from Russell Crowe’s 3:10 To Yuma packed these top-break sixguns you’ll enjoy owning a Cimarron Schofield! - Caliber: .38 Special - Style: S & W Replicas - Frame: Standard Blue - Finish: Standard Blue - Grip: 2 Piece Walnut - Overall Length: No - Weight: 2.65 Lbs.

Caliber:38 Special
Designed along the lines of the classic Colt 1877 double-action revolver with its distinctive birds head grip--the ’77 Colt model was a favorite with such Old West characters as Billy the Kid John Wesley Hardin and lady outlaws Calamity Jane and Pearl Hart. Cimarron has improved this handsome small-framed revolver by maintaining the grace and beauty of the 19th century model but in a much more reliable and durable sixgun than the 19th century model. Colt’s early ’77 double actions suffered from too many complicated and fragile internal mechanisms but Cimarron’s single-action Lightning designed by Cimarron’s founder and president Mike B. Harvey and manufactured to their superior level of finish and strength offers the modern shooter the looks and heft of the 19th century Lightnings with single-action simplicity and 21st century reliability. Produced in barrel lengths of 3 1/2 inches 4 3/4 inches 5 1/2 inches and 6 1/2 inches in the Standard Blue and color case hardened finish Cimarron’s Lightning is available in .41 Colt .38 Special and a 10-shot .22 Long Rifle depending on barrel length. Caliber:38 Special
Patented July 2 1872 Colt employees Charles B. Richards and William Mason combined their ideas for converting Colt’s percussion revolvers to self-contained metallic cartridge breech loading arms. Originally working with the percussion arms parts already in stock guns were converted however as they began to run out of the cap and ball components the company began producing new sixguns as metal cartridge arms rather than conversions. Although the numbers produced only amounted to a few thousand specimens (around 2100 1860 Army models and about 3800 1851 Navy models). El Paso’s city marshal Dallas Stoudenmire packed a cut down Richards Mason Army Colt. and John H. Doc Holliday packed a ’51 new-made Navy model. Today’s shooters enjoy the looks and handling capabilities of these conversion revolvers that combine the sleek lines of percussion revolvers with the convenience of self-contained cartridge sixguns. Due to the high cost and scarcity of originals Cimarron’s Richards-Mason conversions are ideal for Cowboy Action competitors as well as nostalgic gun buffs alike. The Army model copied from an original in our antique collection sports a Standard Blue finish while Cimarron’s Navy model wears a Black finish. Both models are offered in a choice of .45 Colt .44 Colt and Russian .38 Colt/Special or .45 Schofield caliber and in either a 5 1/2-inch barrel or the 8-inch barrel length. In the Original Finish antique arms enthusiasts will swear you have the gen-u-wine article!

As the self-contained metallic cartridge was being developed and perfected many firearms manufacturers and private gunsmiths were busy converting the cap and ball arms to metallic cartridge models more commonly known as conversions. However rather than convert the older percussion arms the Remington factory began manufacturing their popular New Model Army revolvers as metallic cartridge guns. Cimarron has taken their 1858 models and improved these replicas for the modern shooter. The 1858 New Model Army--a .44 bore handgun--was originally converted to either .46 rimfire or .44 rimfire and centerfire metallic cartridges and priced for the civilian trade at a whopping $9 per copy. On the other hand the New Model Navy revolvers were percussion arms returned to Remington by the U.S. Navy to be converted to .38 centerfire. Reproduced from an original new model army from the Cimarron collection and now available in Standard Blue and color case hardened Cimarron’s 1858 New Model Army can be had with either the 5 1/2-inch or the 8-inch octagon barrel in your choice of .45 Colt .44-40 or .38 Special (in 5 1/2-inch barrel).
